Welcome to NSA SoCal’s LAST STORY STANDING Storytelling Competition – a platform

crafted by professional speakers, exclusively for professional speakers.

This competition offers a thrilling journey through three levels: Chapter, Regional, and

NATIONAL.

February 8, 2025 at 1130am on Zoom

Video submission due by 5 PM PST on February 1, 2025

Competition Details:

• Three Tracks: Competitors are evaluated on three critical aspects – PURPOSE, IMPACT, and DELIVERY.
• Chapter Membership: To participate, you need to be a member of an NSA Chapter.
• Video submission: You must submit a video recording showcasing your story to the chapter to secretary@nsasocal.org by February 1, 2025. Videos must be no more than 5 minutes.
• Chapter Competition: Stories will be showcased after the chapter meeting on February 8 at TIME in front of a live audience on Zoom. There will be a panel of 3 judges who will choose the winner of the chapter’s competition.
• Regional Advancement: The WINNER of the NSA SoCal submissions then advances to the Regional competition, with NSA SoCal covering the entire $500 Regional Level entry fee.
• Storytelling Consistency: If your story is selected at the Chapter-Entry Level, it needs to remain consistent throughout the Regional and National Levels. While you can enhance it based on feedback and coaching, the core story remains unchanged.
• Mentorship at Regional Level: Regional competitors will have the privilege of working with a mentor to refine their Chapter Champion story, followed by the submission of their final Regional entry video.
• National Grand Finale: Regional Finalists earn the chance to compete at the National Competition held during Influence, NSA’s national conference this July 26-29, 2025. The competition takes place on the mainstage, where panelists provide constructive feedback. Notably, the audience plays a significant role in voting for the National Champion.
• Rewards for National Finalists: All National Finalists receive NSA Website Mentions, Elite-Level Mentor Sessions, Mainstage Recording and Photos, NSA Email and Social Media Recognition, and a Trophy for the National Champion!

Other Information:

• NSA Speaker Hall of Fame/CPAE Recipients are considered “Elite Speakers” and cannot compete but can participate as Judges and Mentors.
• Chapter Executives and/or Competition Planning/Committee Members are not eligible to participate.
• NSA Chapter membership is a prerequisite to participate.
• The National Champion cannot compete in subsequent years. Winning is a one-time opportunity.
• Deadlines for Chapter, Regional, and National events are non-negotiable. Please adhere to them to avoid disqualification.
• Participants can only compete once per year in one Chapter event.
• Story consistency is vital – your story remains the same throughout the competition levels.
• Final scores and Champion selections are conclusive and indisputable.

Contestant Agreement:

By participating, contestants grant NSA the right to photograph, record, edit, and distribute their presentations in the NSA Digital Vault, without additional approval. NSA may use their name, likeness, voice, and biographical information for advertising and promotional purposes across all media.
